How to Play BloomGuard

Your goal in BloomGuard is to survive for as long as you can against increasingly difficult waves of corrupted creatures attacking the Spirit Tree. The game's over when the Spirit Tree's health is depleted.

You control a guardian spirit that can move around the tree to intercept enemies. Your primary tool is the Luminous Burst, a powerful area-of-effect attack that clears out groups of creatures but consumes your energy. Your secondary ability, Root Weave, creates a temporary barrier to slow and funnel enemies, allowing you to control the battlefield. A typical sequence involves kiting enemies into a group, trapping them with Root Weave, and then clearing them with a well-placed Luminous Burst to conserve energy. This core loop of defending and upgrading is central to mastering the game.

A fundamental strategy is to always stay moving and manage your energy wisely. Tips and Tricks for BloomGuard

1. The 3-Second Rule. Root Weave lasts for exactly 3 seconds. That's not a lot of time. Use it to block a path, then immediately reposition to attack the funnelled group. We designed this to be a short, tactical stun, not a permanent wall.
2. Energy Optimisation. A Luminous Burst costs 40 energy, which is a big deal. Our data shows that players who maintain over 50% energy survive 80% longer. So, here's the rule: avoid using it on fewer than 3 enemies to be efficient.
3. Corner Baiting. Enemies pathfind directly toward the tree, which you can use against them. Lure them into a corner of the screen, use Root Weave to trap them for 3 seconds, and then hit the clustered group. This technique can maximise your burst's efficiency by over 200%.
4. Prioritise Shriekers. Void Shriekers are flying enemies with low health (50hp) but they deal high damage. We designed them as glass cannons. You've got to take them out first before they can overwhelm you.
5. Upgrade Synergy. Always try to match your upgrades. Seriously. If you pick '+10% Burst Radius', try to follow it with '+15% Energy Regen' on your next level. This synergistic approach was a key design choice to reward thoughtful progression and help you master the game.
